Home link

My wife just bought an '07 SLE. The first thing I tried to do was program the Home Link for my Genie garage door opener. The manual says to push one of the Home link buttons and my Genie transmitter at the same time and wait for the light to blink from slow to fast. The light does not blink at all. It just comes on and stays on as long as I am pushing the button. Does this thing need to be zeroed out or reset somehow to delete the old code or is something broken?

Okay. Apparently I have to push and hold the two outer buttons to reset. Thanks!
