Loss of power and acceleration

We recently had a new (used) engine put into our 2002 Solara convertible. The mechanic informed us that we have a vacuum leak in the brake power booster and because of that, the engine is running lean and that it is causing the car to have very slow acceleration. Does this sound correct (we have ordered the parts to fix, waiting for them to come in).

well a vacuum leak will cause a lose in acceleration for sure...but you never know it may be something stupid easy like spark plugs.
