need to replace complete struts and i want to lower my car

i have 2000 solara 5spd please help with suggestions
of brands and whats a safe distance to go low?

1.7inch in front 1.4 in back 16 inch rims???

and if it's low enough save your pennies and go for coil overs, then you'll be slammed if you want.
OR
do the teins and tokico's and get the lip kit. that way you'll be lowered and the kit will make you look even lower. stock rims will look a bit out of place. i plasti dipped mine and that improves the look a bit. i'll tell you right that if you want it to look real nice get some spacers for the rear to get close to being flush, or get rims and get the correct offset.

had them too. sold em a while back. they actually raised the car up a little, obv because theyre bigger than the stock 16's but good fitment. this its where the coilovers come into play or a lip kit to even things out
