goo gone + fishing line...it worked for me.

1) apply goo gone above badges (so that it will seep downward/behind emblems). goo gone isn't hurtful to the paint (at least, not noticably...it may be molecularly damaging, but nothing that some wax wont fix)
2) let goo gone soak for 5-15 minutes
3) use fishing line to get behind the emblem, in order to pull the emblem off, as well as to 'cut' through stubborn adhesive on the backside
4) once emblem is off, use more goo gone + elbow grease (hands) to sort of 'roll' the remaining stubborn adhesive off (it should go without saying that you don't want to try and scratch it off...but i'm saying it anyway)
5) wash and wax
6) stand back and admire a job well done

you'll probably notice some uneven paint fading where the letters are supposed to be. there's not really any solution to this problem, rather, there are alleviations of it, i.e., park w/ that side facing the sun, wax and buff real thoroughly, clay bar....etc. personally, i debadged about 8 months ago, and can still notice some uneven paint fade (when i'm looking at the specific spots).

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: if doing tihs on a gen 1/1.5, you will be able to remove the trunk emblems without a blemish, HOWEVER, if you are in possesion of a gen 2/2.5, then be aware that there are two holes behind the emblem(s) (i'm not sure which one's), which are used to line up the placement. IF DEBADGING A GEN 2, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE WILL BE HOLES BEHIND THE EMBLEM, which may be the difference between a DIY and having to take your whip to the body shop to have the holes filled.

hope that helps

Since you had an answer for the misposted request, I made it into a tutorial. If anyone else has a REAL method they like, please post it.

This is Gen2 section. I'm sure Gen 1 has what they need whether in Tutorials or a/m mods.

I used Bestine (rubber cement solvent) which you can get at any art supply store. The stuff will NOT harm paint or plastic. Heck, it will even remove a sticker off paper! ;)

woah, yeah i have a gen 1 and didnt mention that the gen2's have the holes behind the emblems. i'll edit to include, but that really would be an important point (IMO), since that's the difference between a diy, and potentially having to take it to a body shop to fill the holes

I have a DPW '99 with 167,XXX. I'm pretty sure Randy, the first owner, kept it in the garage and so have I. I dunno about the other owners inbetween. I debadged with floss and goo gone... No fading.
