2008 solara headlight assebly unit

In my attempt to change out the headlamp bulb, the bulb worked it's way out of the socket and melted the plastic socket that it locks into.....I have been told by the dealer I must replace the entire headlamp assembly unit at a cost of $335.00 expensive lesson..I can not find anything from a salvage yard or generic replacement fir anything newer than 2006....The 2006 headlight looks the same as the 2008 and I was wondering if they are interchangable? I found one for $175.....
