Experiments in Rust Removal

I bought Kenny's ( indiglosolara ) brembos from him which he kindly resurfaced for me. Unfortunately there was still quite a layer of surface rust, so I went and got me some sand paper. This is the first time I've ever messed with anything having to do with brakes.

Does anyone know how to remove rust inside there? Between those pillar things?

Im plannin on having them on by next friday, but I need to find caliper paint and paint the hub on the brake and my caliper when the wheels come off. I want them blue.

Maybe fill a hole bucket up with the some rust remover and leave it in there for a while?

Unfortunately, it will come right back. There's no harm in it other than looks. Even my OEM rotors get rusty on a humid / damp day.

The rotor surface cleans right off after mild brake use. The ends and between the rotors are barely visible from outside with large wheels.

As for the hub area, clean it all off and then paint it silver. It'll stay nice looking for quite some time.

Well wit that rust in the grooves, you can get some rust remover and spray it down there, and get a wire brush and brush it clean.
As for rust gettin' back on your rotors would need to be sittin' for a long time wit it rainin' alot or snowin'.

dont waste time removing the rust in from the vents. the rust will come back if you dont paint it. i used silver engine enamel on my hubs and around the perimeter of the discs. been holding up pretty nicely.
