I've been using goo-gone for around 10 years. Used it to remove price stickers off of cardboard even. Never saw it damage paint. I'm sure there's a zillion ways to do it. whatever you feel most comfortable with. Congrats. Enjoy the cleanness of your badgless vehicle. BTW - By the time I was ready to floss the emblems off the goo gone ate through the adhesive to the point were it wasn't even a challange. Didn't take more than 20 minutes. Most of the adhesive was still on the emblem. the remaining adhesive came off by hand. No scratches. Just a clean almost bare-azz trunk(I left the solara emblem) this was on a gen2. the car was built in March and I bought in May. the dealer put a big black badge over the toyota emblem, havingsuch an easy time with that I decided to remove the others. Luckily for me I had SG.org and its SEARCH FUNCTION toalert me to the holes under the solara emblem. Else I would have removed that one also...and found out the hard way.. Thanks SG.org. This is like the encyclopedia for solara owners, with alot of great people to boot.

after i took my emblems off for some reason you can still lightly see the outline of the lettering on the trunk/etc...

anyone know how to get rid of this stuff??

(i used wd40/fishing line)

Could it be that the paint under the emblems were protected from the elements. HOw old was the car when you debadged it?

what will that do? even out the paint or what? not like it can make the rest of the car match up as in 'perfect' condition as the paint that was under the emblem(s).
