^^^ Temp hovering around freezing on the day I file my taxes... WTF? We have SNOW here in Ohio... so I went and sat in the 'lara and "dialed-in" the "gain" on my stereo amps for a spell...

Snapped a couple of the yard...

...a little earlier my parents stopped in to watch the kids while I filed with Uncle Sam... the wife was doing here nurse duty as typical for a weekend.

Took the chance to snap my dad's Camry and mom's Avalon. Shot them just a couple hours before the snowfall...

Yup... just another Toyota family here... on another snowy mid-April day...

Wow, those ARE nice pics. Yeah, April is always the weird month for weather wherever you live.

Toyota family ftw!!! Father and mom both drive Toyotas, and sister drives a Lexus

Photos shot with Nikon D50 through Nikon AF20mm f2.8D (effectively 30mm'ish on digital focal plane...). Lighting was well saturated ambient in each image, all being shot within a couple hours of eachother... In-vehicle shot at 1/15th handheld and underexposed by 1 stop to help bring some definition to the outside vehicle exposure. Car shots just to "win brownie points" with SEVERAL of you sportin' the Camry/mz1 scene out there. 8) (I have had OTHER camry's in my household as well, and more in my extended family... )

All shots "augmented" slightly for saturation and/or contrast levels before posting. Looking for a little "pop" for the forum impact when possilble. The b&w Avalon shot was just a tight crop undersaturated to NO COLOR state, then amplify the contrast a lot.

I sat in the car for 30-40 minutes playing with amp-gain balance and sound shaping, wherein within that time, the weather went from sunny, to overcast, to sprinkle-sleet-flurry-soft snow-sleet-rain-snow-and then the pictured sprinkle condition. A live delivery of "Little Wing" by Stevie Ray Vaughn pulled "straight-off-the-board" and sportin' incredibly well mixed base and drum equalization played at incredibly high volume with hits so sharp with "SNAP" and screaming riffs as crystalline as the icicles hanging off of the delicate branches outside in my windshields eye view that I lost my focus on everything else and aquiesced to the influence of the sensory overload that now enveloped me... and my world of stress became a sanctuary of neural nirvana... like the onslaught of an antisthetic indroduced directly into the brain... a mainline delivery of stimulation as physical as it is aural... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... FEELING the music once again...

Yeah... for all the weather changes about us... other than the deficit of my usual therapy by way of short "out-and-back" sessions aboard a superbike to re-establish my "zen-state center" occassionally... the preoccupation with the 'lara this past fall, winter, and spring... the introduction of an audiophiles delight in the form of a music reproduction system in my automobile... and the exchange of random and orderly comments alike within this forum... have sustained my sanity, equally weighted, and mutually essential in contribution.

Thanks guys.

Nice camera!

Nikon IS the superior camera over Canon.

(Of course, model by model comparisons will net case-specific results... as a product line-wide statement, the Nikon line is the Lexus of cameras...)

The model I used is of a "mediocre" level among digital SLR bodies. The lens is outstanding on ANY camera body, and under any assessment criteria. There ARE Canon bodies and lenses that both EASILY also fit this status. At the end of the day, it is a personal choice.

Biggest "pros" for the Nikon line:

1) Compatability of largest number of lenses made to bodies available of any manufacturer ever in history of photography.

2) Outstanding quality and features. (Other makes and models qualify here.)

:D
