I dunno man, the previous owner was prolly just messing around. I wouldn't necessarily jump right to that conclusion.

Does the trunk open / shut properly?

yeah the trunk opens and closes perfectly. by the sticker on the stock intake box and blue wire loom on a stock engine, i'm sure the emblem was put on upside down cus its "cooler" that way. i'm not a big fan of the taillight vinyl during the day, but it's nice at night. regardless, i plan on the '07 lights in the future.
