Picture Request: Solara w/ 35% Tint

You'll regret 35%, it's way too light. I had 20% which was only difficult if you were backing up at night. I recently put 30% on our HL. That is the lightest I would go.

quite the contrary im very happy with 35%. I didnt want to get a "blacked out" look.. just wanted enough tint for a bit of privacy. Like i said, with 35% i never get harassed by cops over the tint.... and i live in Cali where our cops are on modified cars like flies on shi!t.

I have 20% all around.. and now i kinda wish i would of done darker.. during day you can see fine in and out.. at night with no lights its a lil' hard to back up but u roll the window down and you fine =D ill post some pics if i got some..

I wonder which percentage of tint I have? Any guesses? It's darker on the back than on the front, but I really have trouble seeing out of it at night. It's great in the day time however. It keeps the car nice and cool.

I bought it already tinted, but when I ran into the salesman's at my nephew's pre-grad. baccalaureate service, the first thing he asked was "did I tint the windows?" Actually, he was seeing the claying job I'd done and that's what made the car look different to him. I got him and his wife to rub their hands over the body to feel the slickness. Later I thought that she must of thought I was crazy asking her to rub her hand over a drity old car, but she didn't seem to mind. I did it first and my hands didn't get dirty. Jimmm

looking at tint on other cars its hard to tell what % you want to go with. depending on the angel all the pictures were taken at some % will look darker than others. as well the color of the car will have an impact to how dark ur tint looks as well. since u have a black car even with a low % tint you will find it might look darker than 35%

just check your local laws n see what percent tint is legal and you should be fine. If you get a ticket take it to court rip off the tint take pictures n tell them its already gone n they will prob drop the charges. just dont create more problems for ur self just by adding tint. also if u drive like a crazy person tint isnt exactly the best thing for you to get.

speaking from experience i had to redo my tint twice and it cost me! so just get the % u want cause if its too light u will always want that lil darker one.

IIRC the polarized/solarized factory glass has a natural tint of about 2-3%

so if you're really wanting to stay legal, be sure to have the tint shop meter the window afterwards, and make sure it's still within legal limits.

30% would be nice - I didn't need to go for too dark, my car stands out enough as it is to the popo
