New DVD Unit

I just got a Panasonic DVD unit on eBay, and installed it as soon as the package arrived.
payed $400, and the unit looked almost like brand new, and came with warranty until 2008.

i kept my eclipse unit since the sound quality was better on eclipse unit, and also i'm connecting iPod to it.
i needed some modification on the dash kit to hold 2 single din unit, but took me only 30min or so to figure it out.

with two HU, i can play CD or iPod while screen is showing a movie.

I'm planning on putting headphone jacks for the passenger and back seat, so that they can hear the movie while i am listening to the music while driving.

don't have the bezel for the dash kit yet, but i will make something eventually.

i was saying i won't do any mod for a while, but as always, when i see this on ebay, I couldn't help it.
took me total of couple hours to finish the installation, and i am really happy that i did it myself..
you know, it's done the way i wanted, keep it look clean.

I use iPod2Car by peripheral electronics for my iPod. only complaint is that the volume input is a little lower than when i listen to CDs.
but, considering that it charges and controls the iPod, I am glad that i got this. I paid about $150, and it was the time that connecting iPod to car started getting more popular..
probably you can find it for much cheaper price now days.

how bad is bad on the sound output, i just saw one on ebay go for about the same price and i am thinking about getting something like that. does it sound that bad that you are always going to want to use the eclipse headunit for music?

it is only a relative term.
the eclipse has more clear sound compare to the dvd unit.
it is still much better than stock, and probably better than many other after market unit as well.

my eclipse is older but still one of the higher end unit.
that is only why it sounds better.
when i installed the unit, i compare two unit, and the difference was minimal. i could barely hear the difference.

the panasonic unit is still good unit..
