"New" Wheels Finally on!

"New" Wheels Finally on!

Postby PXLpainter » Fri Oct 27, 2006 12:29 am

Well - my days of bitching about what wheels to get and when I'll finally get them on are now over.

I picked up a set of 18" rims off a G35 - came with tires with lots of tread still, so I'll run 'em for now until I get a few $$ to re-shoe it... and now I'm more anxious than ever to DROP IT!! :o

Also put the black grilles on that I picked up from Phreak (thanks Brian! - and Michael T. of course!) :D

Another sh!tty day in paradise! ;) Down by our beach...

I know, I know - it's gonna get dropped SOON! Just gotta get the fenders rolled first! (anyone know someone in SoCal that can do it?)

nice! just drop it and maybe get lower profile tires in the future to prevent excessive fender rubbing if its an issue

Thanks guys... Yeah - the 20" Foose wheel deal fell through - they ended up paying me cash for the work instead because of taxes, etc... which is cool 'cuz I really needed the $$ for bills anyway

And - I really like the BMW/Jag style wheels so I tried to figure out how to make that happen. Milt turned me on to these (Thanks Milt!) :D and I'm really happy with them so far.

I really don't want to go less than 45/18's because as it is I feel like I'm rolling directly on the rims compared to stock! :o

Plus these are 30 offset so it really pushes the wheel to the edge of the wheel well - which is exactly the look I was going for. Can't wait to drop it next. I think ultimately, I will go with at least 235/45/18s all around. The 225's are just too tiny for my taste. ;)

Go for it! Personally I think they look better on the Solara than the G35!

I like the color too - almost Pewter... looks great with the silver since it's not nearly as bright as the OEM rims were. I ended up putting my OEM rims/tires on my girlfriend's Camry since she really needed new tires and I still have lots of tread on mine. The rims look really good on the Camry too! ;)

Oh - and I still have the silly Infiniti center caps on them - looked too nasty with them popped-out, so I"ll have to find some plain caps to replace them with. Anyone know where I can find those?

I guess no chance that the Toyota caps from the stock sit... right? They seem to be about hte same size by eyeball.

Oh hey... got any pics of the sunny side of the car?

damn those rims look hard :o

But for those who love,
