Picture Request: Inside of Optitron Gauges

I know a couple people have worked with the Optitron gauges before; from what I've been able to find, they're basically a large array of LEDs that light up each part of the cluster individually. I'd be very interested in seeing how they've got this organized. I know I couldn't pull off the faded lightup like the fancy "real" units, but I think it would be possible to arrange and power an array of LEDs that focused on the right spots.

Thanks in advance!
