Road Trip - Maricopa Hwy

Any of you SoCal guys ever want to take a drive up here, lemme know... this Hwy is amazing!! I only went about 30 miles North of Ojai yesterday and stopped to take pics as the sun was setting. Great top-down weather we're having right now - in JAN!! :D

I have a bunch more pics that I'll share later, but wanted to get a few up for now.

I desaturated the color in this one a lot... just messing around to get shadow details out of the car.

;)

Great roads up here... Hwy 33 North out of Ojai is amazing for hard cornering drive or just a top-down cruise with a cigar!

Caught this pic after the sun went down... you can catch a bit of the road there. This is about 30 minutes from my house and very little traffic on it.

Nice pics. That looks like a fun road (I love canyon roads). So far I've driven Malibu, Angeles Crest, GMR (about 15 times so far), and Highway 1. I guess I'll have to try Highway 33 some time too.

In that last pic I posted - that's the Pacific Ocean with the Channel Islands out beyond. This is at about 4000ft level.

^^ Well Donnie, being halfway "lost" to start with doesn't hurt either!

I just can't wait to have my full vision back again so I can truly appreciate everything around me here! I know how fortunate I am to be able to live in such a beautiful spot on this planet (as I'm sure you can relate out there in TN too!).

Oh Eddie - it was around 78 the last 3+ days here... sorry. ;)

From the viewpoint on the summit to the main island visible in that picture, is about 60 miles as the crow flies (but not a crooked flying drunk ass crow) Check out the map:

Image

We live on the edge of a huge national forest area in the mountains here - it's about 20 minutes to the beach from here - about 30 minutes to this viewpoint from Ojai.

You guys have seen the vids and stuff I've shot around here - even going back to my "TRD Muffler Run" vid a couple years ago - I shot up here. :)

Malibu Canyon sux hard broham! Full of soccer moms on their cell phones and cops around every corner! :o

I saw maybe a dozen cars/motorcycles in either direction in the 2 hours I was cruising up Hwy 33 - and not a single sign of pork! ;)
