About once a year, right around this time, some hillbilly in a pickup truck decides to back into my car (this is the 3rd year running). Thankfully they left a note and their insurance is going to take care of it. Do you guys think the QP will have to be replaced or is it fixable?

I'm also serrrriously considering getting my entire car repainted a different color because if they do have to replace the QP and bumper, and then blend into the adjacent sections (trunklid, door, opposite QP), thats a good 30-40% of the car that has to be painted anyways. What do you guys think?

here is a list of options:

1) pearl white with some blue flake (kind of like Lexus) - but this would probably be $$
2) black
3) a deep red/auburn color (the factory red that wasn't the red flame metallic)
4) red flame like my old solara
5) midnight blue

other suggestions? i'd be willing to do it if i only had to put in about 1k extra, but dont know if that's doable.

LOL everyone always hates on the pinstripes. I like 'em dammit!

btw, how would the bumper be fixable? i thought its foam, so any damage means it has to be replaced

it actually looks fixable to me, but the bumper should get replaced.

If they need to put on a new panel and you really want to repaint everything and your kit then I say go for more of a gray or blue color.

That actually doesn't look too bad. A qualified bodyshop should be able to repair that quarter without having to replace it.

I'd say stick to your colour. you're right, they will have to blend into the front door and possible the trunk lid, but changing the colour completely involves WAAY more work. They'll have to get into removing door handles, window trims, side moldings, door latches....etc. Under your hood would be a different colour. you'll also have to get them to match the door jams.

Instead of midnight blue, how about Royal Sapphire Pearl? (RSP, MKIV Supra)

Image

Or the infamous Bayside Blue from the GT-R's?

Droooolzzz... :o

I'd actually decided on these two colors too, before I settled with Gun Grey Metallic, which isn't too far off from black.

Remember, if you're getting it completely repainted, this is your chance to go unique  (or in my case, semi-unique, still #1, haha)
