New Wheel/Tire Setup for the Camry

Alright got everything installed today. The tires are brand new fresh Kumho SPT's 225/40/18. The wheels are Enkei OR52 18x7.5 +38 all around. Much thanks to Man and his buddies for setting me up with this killer deal! Will post better shots later on when I have time.

i'd do it but even rolling my fenders wouldnt make much of a difference.

Using spacers would only it would push the wheels out but not past the fender.

camber for me is impossible. Not everyone can afford new tires every few months.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think these look far better than my older setup too. And Mr. Krispy, I know you're all about the flushness :D . I'll throw on the 5mm spacers in the rear to get better fitment. IDK about fender rolling/camber as it would be a lot more money for me. I'll look into it later on when I have the funds. For now, I'm pretty much broke :o

There's a lot more science/geometry involved in running negcamb correctly than most are aware of. My current wheel/offset setup out back is 18x8 ET +37 wheel, 225/40/18 tires (NO stretch whatsoever), and 15mm spacers. That ends up putting me at +22 offset. To work w/the blocky sidewall-ed tires without massive rubbing, there is -1.25 degrees of camber, but with 2 degrees of toe-in to compensate for that negative camber so as to even out the tire wear.

My wheel right now is at the fender, that is why I'm switching to 25mm out back and moving the 15s to the front so that I poke, which will set my offset specs at +22 front, +12 rear. Of course, I will likely max out my camber kit out back at -1.75 deg. to compensate. Oh wells :)

Thanks for the replies. I haven't tested the grip yet as the tires are new and fresh. I drove 60 miles on the freeway and it's smooth and quiet. I'll post back after a canyon run and let you know how they feel :D

MR Krispy- pm me some pictures, i wanna see what your up to. I want to go flush too but want to know what fits with rolled/shaved fenders... hit me up when u get a chance.

back to topic- Love these wheels much better. They are clean and look aggressive compared to the old set. Good shi7 on the pick up.

Nice wheels!!!

but regarding your topic on flushness and wheel fitment.. 8" wide why not run a 215/40 tire and have a little bit of stretch so you can go lower and have a more agreesive fitment. with a +12 offset after the spacers it will poke maybe 2 to 3mm.

I have a 8.5" +15 offset in the rear running 215/45 and I am FLUSH to the fenders with the wheel lip poking like 5mm. Althought I dont have my JIC CO on yet with maybe -1 chamber you should not rub at all. that is of course you will have to have your fenders rolled and pulled like mine.

I am changing out my wheels maybe pretty soon tho so 17x8 +22 offset A disk front, 17x9 +27 offset o disk in the rear with 215/45 tires. hoping to make it very agreesive!!

You should post some pics of what you are trying to do.. ill post pics once i get done also

Thanks for the replies. Those are some interesting points you guys bring up. I'd also be interested in the pics of your future setups/specs, so keep me updated as well.
