being a cheap ass hood i guess, i had to do a little modifying to make the damn thing fit.

plannin to put hood pins on asap and may paint it. as a word to thoes who may buy the same brand in the future. C-Wings, as this this hood is labeled, seems to leave out a few key things. hood strut mounts on non existnat but marked as well as the holes for the hood secure hooks. the washer nozzles didnt fit and neither did the holes UNDER the hood for the tubing. all things a dremmel can handle.

I don't get the CF hood thing. I mean, practically speaking, it's less weight, but it just looks like the 4-wheelers who drive around with unpainted body panels and fenders.

that said, congrats on your purchase and making it work - I'd just paint it if it were me. ;)

That damage looks like it's only in the clear coat. You could probably take it to a body shop and have them sand and re clear coat it. And maybe they can toss in a hint of red to make it match the rest of the car but still retain the CF look.

i kinda see what your sayin but thats a weird comparison...thoes 4 wheelers dont paint their body pannels because they are off roaders and they dont use CF. why would you paint somthing thats gonna get scratched and nicked up regularly anyways? they arent trying to lighten the load either. not that its helps me alot in terms of weight.

i think i will likely go with a half painted kinda thing. painted with some CF showing...for show :D . and yeah the damage is 90% clearcoat, but there are some chips in the CF along the passenger side...but its hard to get a pic of it...very small.

Good stuff Bird/Rob. Aerocatch pins would seem the way to go IMO. Nice, flush, and unobtrusive.

thanks guys

the port on the SC need to be replaced with an elbow, i have needed to do it for a while but it clears the hood with no crimping so i was never in a rush to do it. usually it just slips my mine but still needs to be done.
