Yeah i'm ok, but gettin' some headaches now & later.
Yeah that what the cop told me.
Also can you believe that the guy in front of me told the cop there was a car comin' towards him!!!!
And the time i've been at my college, rarely does there is a car that comes out of the street when i go through the intersection.
Even the security guard agreed wit me about that the front driver was lying to the cop.
And the cop believed him. :x :x :x :x
Can you believe that.
I even said there wasn't a car that was comin' towards him.
I even told the cop that i've been at RSC for about a year, and that no cars ever came through the entrance of the place, when i was there or leaving.
Only when there is a big play production or somethin'
Total BS to me.
I was because i'm only 19, and the other guy was about late 20's.
Oh, well i will get over it, but the BS crap gets too me.

you got his licensce number and addy, wait a few months and have fun with your keys lol. im guilty of doin it to someone...

UltraslowSolara wrote:i think it will cost you about $1500 to $2500 to fix. to get brake master cylinder would not help that much, you might just get steel bread brake line and BETTER TIRES. but most importantly, dont following too close. 1/4 length of car is not enough for react. A safe driving space is that you need at least 2 second of space. It is like when the car in front of you past a spot, you should pass the spot more then 2 second.
Also, the rear car would appear closer in the mirror. The guy in front of you mght felt that you are tailgating him and he decided to give you a lesson.

Well now since yesterday, i can remember more of what really happened at that time.
I remember when he had started off from teh white line, he was about 1/2 car lengths ahead of me.
And when i finally register that he had stopped in the middle of the road.
Now he didn't tap his brakes, he literally stopped in the middle of the intersection.
And by then i was still goin 15mph, and thn 20mph; then it was a 1/4 car length, then i finally hit my brakes about 2 person shoulder width. [Which i know that wouldn't be enough to not hit him]
Right at the time when the cop asked me what happened; all i could remember was what the distance was at the last second before the impact.
At the time i couldn't remember what the distance between me and him right after the white line.
My mom said that he might be tryin' to get money from our insurance. That insurance crap. I'm not goin to let him do that.
Can they really wield a new straight top radiator support??
Would it still be strong as factory.
Te body shop guy we know is sick so he hasn't had time to get to see the damage.
Also the lady that is part of the claim's department of our insurance, even if i was still some length behind him, it would've been my fault.
For me technical it was the other guys fault for stoppin' in the middle of the road. [Like i said, the other guy said that there was a "car" comein' towards him] Which is BS.
But because of my age, it's my fault.
But i'm not goin to lose this crap to a mutha freakin' preppy dressed dude, thinkin' he all that cause he has an SUV.
I'm goin to talk to a former teacher about what i can do to change this around where it's not my fault.
I know i need to find a witness that was there to veify that there was no car in front on the SUV. That i was correct of what i said, and the real distance between him and me before impact.

From looking at those pics, i guess it's fixable. The only main thing is the bent metal in front of the car.
You can reuse your grill.
You can just order a carbon fiber.
You can order a radiator on ebay.
You can order a front bumper from someone on the board with a wrecked car or go with the R34 front on Ebay.
Well, shi$t happens for a reason, and hopefully you will get back your car soon.

Well from the top view if i had taken a pick, which will be later, the grille is a lost, maybe carbon fiber hood, but has to clear wit parents.
Well the body shop guy gets OEM stuff when he repairs car.
Maybe not a R34 bumper, i kind of like the TRD kit better.

Also no to the gen 1.5 conversion.
I like the gen 1 lights better.

Image You see the rusted spot on the bumper support. Well i think it would've not been that bad, if that wasnt like that.
They guy we bought the car from, new got me a new one so that is why the top radiator mount on that side is so f**ked-up.
Image
ImageOf course you can see that the thermostat side of the radiator hose is being touched by the fan.
Image It's kind of dark in the bay cause the hood is down, but you can tell how it looks.
Image
The second fan really close to the front headers.
Image Nothin' to say about this.
Image Of course the most sustained damage of them all.
Site site of "slight U" bent is right above the rusted part of the bumper support.

Will keep you guys updated.
Today the claims agent/estimator came to look at the car.
Will update on what he said later, tommorrow.

Update for you guys here on SolaraGuy.com on the cost to repair my car.
Well it's goin to hurt my pockets and my parents pockets.
It's goin to cost $6,000 to repair the car.
The insurance is sendin' a check for $5,000, and we have a deducatable of $500, so we have to dish out $1,000 to fix my car, to back to new health.
That's the update i just got.

well i am sorry for what happned. good things that your air bag didnt pop out. however, it is true that it is always the fault is belong to the car in the back. I highly doubt you can do anything about it.

i am suprised about they didnt declare salvage title on your car because that is about 60% of your car value already.

Yeah, but when we fix it, it will be like brand new hopefully.
The top radiator support wouldn't have been that badly damaged if the guy i bought it from had given me a new one, instead of just bendin' it back straight.
Or if he had straighten the thing, he could've welded a piece of flat metal or somethin' over the rusted hole in the bumper support.
But guess i will have to deal wit the costs. :( :( :(
Will have to see if our body shop guy can fix it flawlessly.

Sorry to hear about your ryde bro.

...any hit in the rear is always the person following's fault and there are people that abuse that fact....the guy you smashed into was probably keeping an eye on you in his rear view and decided to stop to collecta nice amount of insurance cash knowing that nothing would happen to his SUV.

Hope your headaches and stuff go away.

You should take the guy to small claims court for damages to your car and personal injuries along with any medical bills you might have accumulated in the process.

Good luck with what you decide to do with your car since you have open options to upgrade parts and do a front end conversion.
