"New" Wheels Finally on!

Postby PhreakdOut » Fri Oct 27, 2006 7:41 am

Jeff,

The setup looks great!!! I like the offset on the wheels. Seems to fill in the wells a bit better. As for the center caps, take some measurements on it. Outside diameter, thread pitch (if you have a pitch gage) and ask some wheel manufacturers. One concern I'd have is that the Infinity wheels are colored slightly. I assume the cap is as well. Matching this may be hard.

Ask the wheel shops. I'm sure they are creative. If you have unlimited funds and can loan me one, I can have it made for you. (J/K) Honestly, I'm not sure how much my contact would charge. I'd need some good pics of the car. He'd make it out of billet aluminum.

Congrats again! Looking forward to seeing the rolled fenders and slam.

Hey Jeff,

If you need a shop in So. Cal to roll your fenders or Cut your fenders let me know. Just PM me. I know a few places that will do it.

BTW, the wheels look good. The 30 offset on those wheels help out allot.

Close - Seal Beach - just across the water from my house. :)

Phreak - the caps are smaller than Toyota's (I tried!)

Thanks for the comments guys... I'll take more pics once it's lowered. (and try to get the "sunny side" - just that here on the West coast the sun is on the ocean side unless it's early am!) ;)

The more I look at it, the weirder it looks to me to still see all that gap!! :o

Did the wheel upgrade help improve the ride?

I have a set of 17" 350z wheels.
I thought about putting them on the Solara.
I might bring these to the button Willow Track day event and run them.

Its 17x8 with +33 offset with tires.
Rear tires are 235/50 and front are 225/50.
All you need to do is roll or cut the rear fenders and they fit with no problems.

But if anyone is interested in buying them PM me.

Looks great PXL. IMO, better than what you were choosing from before. Good choice.

Thanks Milt - I already got the tools out and gave them a quick trim as they were cutting the tires (not just rubbing) on the freeway. I'm headed for Las Vegas in the am and didn't want to get a blowout on my trip! ;)

They could stand to be cleaned up though - just used a cutoff wheel and they're pretty rough - but functional at least. :)

Thanks Jerry - I have to agree! :D
