Then again... 15 or so years ago... I was "E-braking" my first supra and "flicking" it up onto two wheels for kicks... then there's the good 'ol "BRAKE CHECK" from 100+ down to 0 on a country road... I recall warping TWO sets of rotors with THAT juvenile stunt...

W-E-L-C-O-M-E ! ! !

(Get the CP-e... then you can "SQUEAL" every time you leave a light! )

-crisp :evilbat:

Brake check? like literally... just going 100+ on the freeway and then slamming on the brakes with full force? wow sounds so fun and experimental... Supra had ABS? cuz I imagined if it didn't, you'd be sliding around the road coming to a stop...

and yeah..Kaxael, i'm sure it's fun, we all did it once or twice in our life...

Yeah, like FROM triple digits PLUS... ask your shotgun buddy: "Yer BELT on TIGHT???!!!"... then set yourself... yell "BRAKE CHECK!!!!!", and STAB on the brake and NAIL it a STRONG HYDRAULIC UNDULATION in the ball of your foot, as the TAIL GOES LIGHT AND WEAVES and your NOSE DIGS DEEP to the LIMIT and JUST BEYOND IN TELLING TRACTION BREAKING CHIRPS... till the SWEET BURNT SMOKE SMELL rises and the HAUNCHES-HIGH HATCHBACK-ASS settles back down to a plowing STOP... followed by the WHIPLASH SNAP of the chassis returning a suspension wound recoil as you lock rubber to road............

ABS..... NOT! :o

Damn junvinilia of vehiclular experimentation????

-OR-

...cold, calculating, carmanic testing in the proving ground of mario crispetti...

How about some more parking lot spinning with the tires...? :scatter:

BWAAAAAAHHHhhhhhhhhh ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

I DID say COUNTRY ROAD.... nicely paved and grippy...

hey guys, seriously.... for all the technical heads on this forum... let's discuss this... fill me in on what I don't know...

for the sake of argument, let's assume he was in an OPEN lot, no trees or street lamps or anything (cuz that sh*t IS dangerous), and since he's driving a Gen 2, safe to say that most likely it's an auto.

Ruskimafia says... also almost catching the tranny in gear rolling backwards. also putting alot off stress on the car...

ok, I agree with the first one, but the second one? stress on the car? you mean stress on the cars transmission right? What stress were you talking about?

I mean ultimately, IMO, doing donuts and sliding around like that on wet grounds only messes up several other things.... it kills his tires... (but hey, if you got the money to play, that's up to the person), it shortens the life of his rear brakes (once gain, if you got the money to go back and get brake replace every so often, so be it)... and... that's it? transmission, tires and brakes? I mean, what else is so bad about doing donuts and "drifting" in a parking lot? A car's suspension is made for reasons like these...

well one thing is that the transmission's torque converter is taking crazy abuse with all the on/off heavy loads. w/o a transmission cooler or just the cooling of air flowing through the radiator will heat up both the engine and transmission.

The engine may suffer from brief oil starvation due to the oil slushing around. Under full throttle conditions such as those (from the lack of power) then your engine won't be as lubricated vs. cars with a dry sump pan.

It's bad for the engines motor mounts. With the drive tires always slipping and regaining grip, those motor mounts would go bye bye in no time.

I'm sure theres a few more, but those are the ones I can think of.

SERIOUSLY??? You WANT crisp to go there?

Better take a vote:

YES! I want to hear crisp go on and on and on and on and on about auto-abuse...

NO! Please PLEASE PLEASE!!!! DON'T HUMOR "the crisp" WITH SUCH BAITING REQUESTS!!! (He might oblige... :o )

That having been said... I'll pass on this one and defer to someone else who actually knows something about cars and stress...

F!U!C!K!I!N!G Idiot. Sliding with a heavy car will always put stress. Dumb kids needs to learn a wet surface only helps REDUCE flat spots on your tires, not help keep your car from Fcucking up. Your joints and axle can still break not to mention the chance of you wrecking the car. Not to mention letting your friend drive your car. Think he gives a fcuck about your car?

SO in Dat's Word.....

First of all usually it is me driving, and when my buddy does drive (he's my roommate too) he actually cares as much as I do whether or not the car hits something because it's both of our transportation. As it turns out we've never come too close to hitting anything by accident and we screw around quite a bit.
