Gen 5 Camry with HID Projector Retrofit

I finished these about a week ago, and I love it. It took me about a month total for the retro, mainly because it was sorta on-and-off throughout the month.

Thanks, guys!

Well, total cost came out to around $550. It would have been less if I hadn't bought a seperate set of headlights just for the project. But mainly, if you decide to retro, the essentials are projectors ($160 for mine), bulbs ($60), ballasts ($175), and if you want to protect your stock wiring, a harness which is around $25 or so for parts to make, or $45-$60 to have someone make it for you.

I got most of my stuff on HIDPlanet.. its safer than using ebay. For the little stuff (ie. nuts, bolts, tools, etc), any hardware store will do.

Nice, Khandome (another gen5 camry dude with the same color camry like yours) i believe was the first in the nation to retro gen5's. But your output seems nicer than his. Kudos to join the HID club

Hehe, thanks guys!

Yeah, I know I'm definitely not the first, but there aren't all that many. It was definitely worth the time, effort, and money.

Over labor day weekend, I will actually be taking them apart again and fixing them up a little bit... there are a couple of flaws that I made that aren't noticeable really unless you know that they're there... but I know that they're there, and it eats me up inside lol. Also, I didn't seal them well enough the first time as there is a little bit of moisture leak, so I'll need to take them apart anyway.

Now does anyone know anything about silica gel packets and whether they really work as far as moisture absorption and heat resistance?
