The Curse of the Silverstream Opalescent (Crash Pics)

I hate this to be the first pics of my 'Lara on the board. BUT

While dropping off a friend after a night of bar hopping with my boys (one of their birthdays). I'm going down a 4 lane street/highway with a median in the center. I'm traveling on the right lane heading East .......doing about 30mph......nothing but green lights ahead of me, it's about 4:30 in the morning...............then SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH.......a late model Ford Explorer comes from the other side of the media blocks both my lanes.....I tried to stop, all I could do is avoid their passenger door (didnt want to kill the guy sitting there) and hit their tire/front fender instead)

The hood is pretty banged up.

A girl jumps out the truck in a cocktail dress, her boyfriend does too. They both look pretty :drinking: , cuz they just came from NYC clubbing (this was right before you enter the Holland Tunnel). She's too scared to say anything to me, I get on the phone, call the cops over. They come I explain my story. She goes and explains her story.

The cop asks her "what color were the lights?"...........

she goes "they were like yellow..."...the cop goes "so you're telling me you ran a red light?"......

she goes "ugh no I mean they were red......no wait"....... :o

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share. At least I'm getting a new bumper and corner lights :-? And no injuries to report.

oh yeah, does anyone know what this is? it fell out from the damage....

So the dood jumped out in a cocktail dress too?? :o

Glad to hear you're okay - I would definitely check for frame damage - that's the absolute worst place for that kind of impact!!

Best of luck to you... ;)

Steve526--The cops in my city are too lazy especially @ 4:30 in the morning to even check for a DUI, but I had buddy pass by who happen to be a cop with his partner, and he talked with the cop writing the report. He verified for me that all fault would be on her and that "this girls is a retard, she doesnt even have her license". So far, I dont have much to worry about pending the report.

WTF??--- What does the resevoir basically do? Would I be alright driving without it until I get things repaired?

onefiend--- The explorer didn't suffer too much damage since I aimed at the tire, I'm guessing alignment problems and I saw some fluid leaking from her ride. The funny thing is, the vehicle I had before the Solara, was a Ford Explorer, they're pretty tough.

No its not necessary. Your car may be just a bit more noisier (if at all - most likely not noticable) and the air flow MAY be a little different, but I doubt it would trigger a CEL. some ppl have removed the entire snorkel before the airbox and said they didnt have a CEL.

Wow, sorry, but glad you are OK.

I hope she has insurance. If she has no license, she may not...and then you'd have to go after whoever owns the Explorer...could be a pain.

The drivers of that Explorer will definitely lose this battle. They came from the other side of the road and hit your car.

Their parents gonna rip their balls off I tell you wut. Tell me something, did that girl have a mustache? I notice a lot of girls in my school that have a nice body but when I look at their faces they have a mustache.
