AT indicators are unplugged. It's just that they have a illuminated field from the cluster lighting. I need to disassemble the cluster and black out the AT and fuel type indicators from the backside.

Also check out Toyotanation.com, there is a guy named Snakeeyes in MN that has done an LED dash, maybe you two could share some ideas. Jon.

Is that the guy that made a PCB with a bunch of SMD LEDs for his manual AC controls??

I saw some guy on TN that made that, but it was a one-off piece that others couldn't get. But the final result looked sooo good. I need to get over to TN.

I am keeping the price LOW. BTW, I only paid $50 shipped for those gauges.

Yeah, the mileage changed. My car only has 50K on it, but this cluster shows 81K. I am not too worried about it, I am on the lookout for a 50Kish ES300 cluster, then this cluster will be up for sale. or, if I sell the car (very likely because the 5 speed is killing me in traffic) I'll just put the original cluster back in.

How long did this take you? Have you thought about a dash trim kit? I think it would complete your interior as far as giving it the lexus look.

THX for the ideas....I was actually going to black out the unleaded fuel thingy also...I was just so excited to get this project done, that I will do the black out stuff tomorrow. I am curious to open up the cluster and see what makes it so darn bright....I'm guessing it is white cold cathode lamps, man this cluster is very bright.

I am definitely going for the Lexus look. I will do a white LED swap on my stock radio, install white cold cathode lamps in the footwell, change the power window switch to white LED, and I'll also do white LED illumination for the AC controls too.

Not too into dash trim kits that stick on....

That is an amazing job you did. I like it a lot. Ive done the LED swap on my stock radio. It was pretty easy. I followed the tutorial on TN likewise but my radio was a little different. I had to figure out the polarities myself for the leds and my display used a regular light bulb to light it up instead of LEDs. I just used a sharpie and colored the bulb. Here is a pic

Its a little blurry but this is the best pic I took out of 5. My camera sucks and I dont have a steady hand without that flash.
