You guys crack me up... floss and a hairdryer?

Use the solvent that works on any tape-based adhesive and won't harm paint at all (so safe, it's used on paper!!) ;)

Bestine (rubber cement thinner) - it's been around for decades and I still keep a couple cans on hand.

(Even cleans up fresh silicone sealant)

Any art supply store will stock it.

BTW - nice that you Gen 1-ers can actually TOTALLY de-badge your rides! We have holes to fill and bumps to hammer down on our trunks. :(

Ive done the floss way. Just rope off some floss, and start your motions back and forth. It will break a lot. You can also use fishing line, but it might be more rougher on the paint. Then to clean off the residue i used some goo gone and then wax/buff the rest....

Jeff, hairdryer and floss will not harm your paint if done properly and with some care. I think fishing line will do some damage though, not sure about that.

I had a real easy time debadging. I loaded an irrigator(sort of looks like a syringe) with goo gone. Saturated around the emblems. wait a couple of hours. Saturated it again. waited a few hours. Took some WAXED dental floss and worked it from the side. Came off real easy. did't touch the solara emblem because of the holes. I suppose the solvent Pxl mentioned would work just as well.

i was paranoid with using any kind of solvent or goo gone stuff so i heated up my emblems and simply used floss back and forth. It was tedious, and took an hour to clear all my emblems ( side panels, and trunk ) and afterwards left some sticky residue which i heated up, and with a gloved hand, simply rubbed off ( heated, it will just roll up and fall off the car ). This process didnt use any chemicals and had the least risk of damaging paint. And as such, my removal left no scratches and i didnt even hafta wax afterwards, altho i did anyway just for good measure.
