Painted Foglight lenses

Painted Foglight lenses

Postby Akfahad » Wed Nov 29, 2006 4:04 pm

Figured I'd try it and see how they'd come out. I had a local shop paint the foglight lenses yellow (figured I could always remove it if I didn't like it, but I had to do something since putting in the HIDs). Using Sylvania Silverstars for the bulbs, I don't think it looks too bad. I'm actually pleasently surprised...let me know what you guys think.

Sorry, no day pics yet...

^^^jack up the front end. You'll have to remove the plastic lining underneath, which requires a 10mm socket wrench to remove 2 bolts, and a phillips head screw driver (for me anyways) to remove three more screws. Unscrew the foglight bulb from the housing (twist). There are two bolts holding in the foglight: take the same socket wrench and put on a 8mm nut to remove one and I used a simple grip to remove the other one. Once the both nuts are out, push the foglight housing forwards (towards the front of the car). Now do the same thing for the other side. Took me about 30 min. to do both sides.

As far as 3000k HID for the fogs...didn't want to spend the money on it right now.
