Apologies for the quality, my cell phone doesn't make a very good camera, or cell phone for that matter.

This is from backing into a telephone pole at night with no street lights:

Do you nice folks know of any kind of compound that'll get rid of that? I read that another member was just going to repaint (or replace and repaint) his bumper cover but I don't really want to go that route YET. There's some cracking in the tail light right above the smears, there's no getting around that, I'm going to replace it. Carbon tails or OEM?

And here's one that was caused by the GF:

Note to all members: When your GF gives you one of those "commitment" situations (eg: If you feel this way about me you'd let me do this or you'd do that for me) and it has anything to do with your car, say: "It's just not something I think YOU'RE ready for yet sweetheart".

ouch....

go with oem tails, NOT aftermarket. You might want to get gen 1 instead of 1.5 too.

accident

Postby aleki2424 » Wed Apr 11, 2007 9:24 pm

ok, b4 u take it anywhere, get a nice big wad of rug and rub some ispropyl (rubbing) alcohol along the damage. most of the discoloration should come right off. there dosent seem to be any dent on the rear bumper, so that should pretty much keep you going. 8)

Ouch!

Was the accident caused by someone fooling around with the laptop in the passenger seat?

Yea she went in head first. lol. Actually, some woman in a Saturn sideswipped her (my GF) when she (my GF) was making a right turn, I guess they (the Saturn) were trying to pass her (my GF) while she (my GF) was turning. Some people just do not have the patience here in Boston. The saturn was barely dinged but my driver's door was pretty much owned. Saturn Anti-dent FTW.

I wish that were the truth lol, at least I could justify it with something a little more reasonable than "it was too dark". I actually took that picture earlier tonight, the accident occured a few weeks ago.

Hey K, sorry about your accidents...

I think some Scratch X/Polish/Wax would help make it look a lil better.

That's a bummer man! This might sound somewhat harsh but a little a mean "little" of the goof off stuff will take those marks away almost completely. Wax after that because that sh!t will eat through you clear coat real fast. Only reason I suggest that because I used it on my Jeep which was Hunter Green & had no problems with paint coming off or anything with it.
