I had a very good time, the drag strip (1/8 mile) was so fun, I did have a couple of wins but they were wins because the opponent left the starting line before the green light. There were two runs that my tires were spinning pretty good (no traction), both of those instances were at the left lane. The tech crew there is pretty cool too, they gave me the right lane when I noted that my car had better traction on the right lane.

My best ET out of a total of about 15 runs at the 1/8 track was a 10.870 seconds @65.2mph and my best reaction time was 0.484 seconds.

Thanks wkbrdr91 for telling me about the drag strip, can't wait for the SG meet at that place this upcoming summer (2010). :D

Oh yeah I only paid 10 bucks for 5 hours of fun, wheeeee!!

Looks like fun, did you get to go on the normal race track at all??
I was gonna meet up with you there, my friend just got a turbocharged GTI and he was dying to race, but couldnt find anyone willing to do more than rev at us at red lights (even though they revved first)

but he started having issues with his car so we decided it was best not to use his car too much

That is the normal race track. They are setting up a new road course but it is not completed yet. They also have a drift track that a lot of folks were using tonight.

The people were either at the drift track or the drag track, I didn't notice the road course, they are still building it.

They are repopening the road course in October, the new and improved version :D

nice. I wonder if the Bentley actually raced. I honestly like the Bentley's cousin the VW Pheaton better. Its less common and it has the same quality and i wouldn't feel bad modding that. I almost got one a while back but I wanted the W12 but i'm going to wait til I get out of college and get the V8 version as maybe a nice family car instead. ( gotta find a wife first :-) )

I did the same here in Texas. There is a local 1/8th mile track.
I tried all night and I just couldn't get under 10 seconds. I think my best time was 10.3

Heck, and now I ride a motorcycle that can do a 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds. Now thats a rush.

The Bentley did race a couple of times, I saw it raced a Jeep SRT-8, the Jeep won though I think.

The track last night had a bunch of motorcycles, I saw many Hayabusa's, etc. One motorcycle got a trap speed of 135 mph at the 1/8 drag track.

There were plenty of muscle cars as well, one Gremlin I saw lifted its front wheels went the driver hit the gas. A Chevy Nova was also present as well as a fast back Mustang. Those muscle cars are all heavily modified.

Cool, I will be at the Central Florida Racing Complex pretty much every Friday. It is so close to my house and the prices are pretty cheap.

What is the date of that big event? I didn't even know that there was one happening at that spot.

I think its pretty much every night.. or atleast every friday and saturday night. you turn onto john young from sand lake (heading away from the Dodge dealership over there) and after you go over a hill there is a couple warehouses on the right, and its in there.

Obviously its illegal.. so go at your own risk, thats why im not taking my car there lol

I heard this from this ricer with a Celica.. he was revving at us at a red light, but when we took off he didnt even try, he again revved at us at the next light, and again did nothing. when we parked at the olympia football game that night, the only stall close to the front was next to him haha. we then talked to them during the game and he told us about that spot, he said hes been like 5 times, never been caught, he said if the cops show up it looks like that one warehouse scene from fast and furious lol

he said cops will only do anything if it gets out of control (over 500 cars), so he said as long as its not too busy you are safe, the cops drive by every once in a while to make sure its not too crazy, but only catch a couple people when its 500+
