I have had the same idea about droppin' in a 2JZ in a Solara. I talked/emailed this one guy at a company in the NE coast somewhere. He told me it was possible but a lot of money, so i got to save up. Anyways what they did was sweet was they had a 240SX and put in an SR20 and wasn't happy, so they dropped in a RB26DETT and still wasn't happy. So they then finally dropped in a 2JZ and was puttin' down about 800-900 rwhp, daily driven.
Here the website where i found the 240 wit 2JZ: http://members.shaw.ca/kfgroup/240sx_-_2jz.htm
You will be surprised.
You have to modify the firewall to fit the tranny of the 2JZ, and rear end of a Supra to tranfser parts, and to fabracate the rear suspension, and other needed parts.
