Brandy new Solara owner checking in!

Postby Qetesh » Sun Oct 10, 2004 10:09 am

Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Jen and I live in New York state.

I found this website while searching for information on Gen I Solara's before purchasing. This site has been helpful in making my decision and I finally purchased my Solara yesterday 8)

I'm not your "typical" woman driver, although yesterday I had a moment. While backing up to leave the dealer I gently brushed a concrete piller. In doing so, the rear left side of the bumper sustained a small crack about an 1.5" in length and cracked the signal assembly also :bad-words: My own damn fault, haven't driven a standard in years

So, my question is, where can I get aftermarket OEM parts? My insurance won't cover it since this faux pas occured pre-insurance pictures, hence, they have no way to prove it wasn't an existing flaw vs. my own dumb fault. Additionally, my insurance rates are so low, that to use my collision would increase my rates and I'd rather keep them the way they are.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance everyone!
~Jen

Yup, it's a V6, manual, SE edition. About the only thing the car DOESN'T have is the climate control panel, power passenger seat, side impact airbags and automatic tint rearview mirror. Other then that, it's loaded.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :D

Welcome! I'd like to invite you to our upcoming Mid-Atlantic BBQ in Great Falls, Va. We're expecting 15 Solaras and a few Scion tCs to be there. We have people from New Jersey coming down too. Hope you can make it. http://www.zer0.info/solaraguy/viewtopic.php?t=10952

Welcome and congrats.
If you want a new primered rear bumper cover click here . I believe that's a good price. If you need a new tail light, look around because some members might have for sale. There's a passenger side tail light on ebay click here

 Most of my vehicles have been stick, up until I bought my Jeep 4 years ago. I'm excited about driving a stick again. That just sounded wrong

I'll be around! I'm really digging the site and reading about everyone's mods. I'm gonna be in trouble if I decide to start modding my own Solara as I already have an expensive motorcycle addiction
