i would not be surprised if the repair bill come out to be 4 digits easily at the stealer.
now i rather waste my time on DIY, have done the clutch, timing belt, sparkplugs and other minor stuff, it wasn't too bad.

Ok, so now I am a little hesitant about giving my toyo dealer 70 bucks for this inspection. Its been around 3 days now and the more I drive it the less amount of the odor is occuring I drove it this mourning, (alot of in town clutching) and when I got to my destination I could still smell a little but prbably 75-85% less. IS it possible that the clutch just slipped so bad that its just burning of particles or the glaze. I really dont beleive my clutch is bad. It doesnt slip at all still chirps 2nd and 3rd. Up hills no slpping, starting in 3rd and 4th kills the car, so what do ya think.

That is why you don't let your friends drive your car, unless you trust his drivin' skills.
I "supposedly let" my friend drive my car, even though he didn't have a license, he just jumped in the driver seat of my 98 Camry, and was followin' my other friend who has an IS300, [i justed finish installin' my IS300 friends' intake ECU] and we were testin' and checkin' if any lights would come one, and then we drove down his driveway[it about 1/4 to half a mile], and we were headin' back to the house and my friend who was "supposedly" drivin' my car, even though he didn't need to, just my IS300 friends driveway curb at about 70mph. :o
My dumb a$$ friend killed my Camry, busted my rims and messed up the suspension.
I almost killed my dumb friend so fast.
My dad took it to the dealership to get an aligment, and he told me they had to replace to camber bolts cause it was f**ked up back.
I will never let my dumb a$$ friend drive my car.
I learned a lesson. We call the dumb guy of our group "crazy eyes" [cause well of course his eyes are messed up they not straight forward; offset].
I only let my bro drive it, and my IS300 friend drive it.
"Crazy eyes can't come close to my Diamond White Pearl cause i would kill him]

Confused. I thoght 3rd gear hits from 60 to 90 MPH? Becuase I down shift allot from 4th or 5th to 4rd at 65 mph and its not tooo near redline. In the mid 5's.

Ok so I am realy lost and this is ruining my life. The smell is coming back again, and it is really bad if you even remotely slip the clutch, if I start in 1st you can garuntee the smell will arise. So has there ever been a case when the clutch has started burning up like it seems mine is BEFORE the actual performance was affected, there is no slip at all. It actually seems to be almost grabbing to much when it comes to starting off. :drinking:

huh?

So anyway I have just been driving the car, everything seems ok, just every once in awhile I get a litle wiff of the smell, especially when I slip the clutch when in reverse. I dunno, wish I knew, I can change clutches my self I just wish I knew for positive thats what it was before I dove into it.
