Tsudo CF muffler vs G'reddy

Tsudo CF muffler vs G'reddy

Postby solow1605 » Sat Dec 11, 2004 1:06 pm

Ok, so I ordered G'reddy exhaust from morepowerracing about two months ago and they've screwed it up so much that i cancelled my order. Now I have the money and I was thinking about going with 2.5 inch mandrel bent piping with a Tsudo carbon fiber muffler. Its considerably cheaper for the whole setup its going to run me $315 vs about $550 for the G'reddy. My question is if the Tsudo will get as much power as the G'reddy catback. I'm thinking it will because the piping is the same and its mandrel bent and the muffler is essentially the same. What are your opinions?

Greddy has gone thru R&D when producing their products. Just bending some pipes in my opinion wont give the same performance.

True in a way . . . GReddy has gone thru all the research & development for it, but it IS a bit more restrictive due to the resonating factor in the piping. Either way you really won't feel any significant gains from just the exhaust . . .

solow1605, your HP gains won't really show until you have forced induction. I personally love my Tsudo carbon-ti mufflers . . . but if you are goin to have them "mandrel bent" make sure that they don't "crimp" the circular shape of the piping too much. I've seen some exhaust jobs where the piping has NOT maintained its shape and was mandrel bent. My advice would be to try and have them WELDED for the bends . . . it maintains the smooth out-flow of the exhaust better and can lead to better HP gains ultimately. Shootz den.

you'll do yourself a favor by not worrying about that .5 hp difference. good job on dumping the Greddy though

I've been through 2 aftermarket exhausts (JIC and Greddy) and I find the greddy to have the least backpressure..even compared to stock.

eitherway the choice is up to you. If you go greddy then you cant really change anything about it. For the custom, i'd recommend to combat the change of getting the mandrel bends messed up in the process, get slightly bigger piping like 2.75... so in that way, they mess it up, its all good because of the overall bigger size.

I got my Tsudo CF muffler installed today with 2.5 inch piping and took my resonator out. It is really nice. Sounds similar to G'reddy but is slightly louder. Looks much better IMO.
