i dont get it... everyone complains about tire wear problems... when u lower a car.. its gonna happen if u align the car a million times.. sum are worse than others, but there will always be tire wear unless u get a camber kit for all 4 corners.. ppl need to read up b4 they just throw on a suspension on their car... sorry i just had to get that out bye :evil:

I think we have had this discussion a few time. NOT all gen 1/1.5's need camber correction kits. if your referring to info from other forums (non toyota) your info. is correct for other japanese auto manufacturers....

i just meant in general... and my car needs camber all around.. but i have it slammed on JIC.. but my point of the thread is that ppl think they are gonna so suspension mods.. and not sacrafice anything... yes your tires are most likely gonna wear aout quicker on the insides.. it happens... its a luxury of having a nice suspensions setup... and if u dont ahve any wear problems.. then awesome... but its just i see everyone complaining about treadwear problems... they need to read up about what happens... b4 they go and lower their car... that's all

Agree, but I am not particularly worried about tire wear either. I knew going into it that I was going to chew up the 225 40 18's with a combination of negative camber and lots of tire spin on a front wheel drive, open diff, higher power car. I don't have a camber kit and never got it aligned after the suspension because the car and steering wheel track straight.

The inside of the tires did not wear to the point that the tires were unuseable before the rest of the tire was down to the wearbar.

So wheelspin/regular use accounted for most of the wear. 14k miles on Yoko AVS ES 100's. I'm gonna try Fuzions next.

I've seen a solara lower then that with no chamber problem....

However its really based on the car. Cuz when i droped mine with tein and tokico i was told i had neg chamber in the front right wheel.... But i didn't use a chamber kit to fix the problem. I just had the place do a alignment and rebolted (take it off and put it back on) the bolts that connected to the strut and it was gone. Sometimes the bolt that goes from lower arm to strut wasn't installed at the right angle during install and can cause chamber problems just like if you didn't hold something in the right angle and forced the bolt in anyways.

All lowered car will always wear tires faster... when i had my racing hart wheels i only drove about 10k miles and i was down over 50% thread on 340 threadwear tire. 225/40/R18. Also on how the drive handles the car.

For those who are planning to lower their cars dont always base off of anothers experience with alignment and chamber cuz it diff on every car. Just like how Milton and me are on the same springs but his sit about 1" lower then mine...

and i've been lower..... since i have the JIC i have camber adjustment.. but i havent done it yet cuz i get used tires for free at work anyway... and i love every set of tires i get.. i abuse the hell outta them.. use them for what they're made for... but i havent done a camber adjustment on them... but they wear slowly... o by the way if anyone has front control arms for sale let me know.. i need a pair
