damnit, im so mad i lost my gromet that came with the wiring kit. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, anyone know how much they cost?

and remember the picture of the terminal? the one that's supposed to be used for the capacitor? i dont need it anymore and i was wondering if i could use it to ground the 0 gauge to the chassis?

Interesting thread. I am in the process of gathering all the parts and pieces for my install. Hardest part looks like finding a place for my fuse block up front and getting the 0 gauge wire thru the firewall.

When I am done my system will have a Clarion head unit. Infinity components up front and 2 Phoenix Gold Titanium subs in the rear.

Front amp probably will be one of my trusty old Crutchfields and I have a pair of Precision Power PC2600's to run the subs.

Things have changed in the 10 years since I have played with car stereo..

hey peter, just outta curiousity..what the hell are you doing exactly?? lol..it seems like you've been ripping apart your car for weeks now! are you just doing it little by little like a fun project in your spare time, or are you trying to make the most complicated maze of wires that a solara has ever seen?? :angel:

I think I am just going to have a buddy fabricate a bracket for the fuse holder and offset bolt it to the strut tower brace. Bolt on to the brace and then make about a 2 inch offset to sit below and to the side of the brace. The only other thing I thought about was putting it inside the airfilter box. That wouldn't be that hard to do, just use grommets and a little silicone to seal up where the 0/1 gauge wire goes thru. Any other ideas??

missay, its not that much work, i just ask a lot of questions and it makes it seem like it is. you gotta remember, this is my first time learning about this stuff, and i havent started the install yet. still waiting for some free time. especially with snowboarding season coming up real soon, i might not be able to start the install till next month or so.

zxlnt, that sounds pretty complicated, but let me know how it goes, and take some pictures when you get it done k?

ohhh..ok..i you haven't started yet, you're just making sure you know what you're doing before you get yourself in over your head..i thought you'd been trying to figure it out as you go along so all i could imagine was you driving around w/ a bunch of wires all over the place for the past month or so.

haha, that sounds pretty funny....bunch of holes and crap in my car...hehehe .... dont worry, it'll be a clean install... im putting my amp and cap in the spare tire compartment, so i'll still have 100% trunk space left for my snowboard and stuff
