My tokico hp's and tein s techs are sitting in the garage now waiting to be installed. Toolwise, I got the regular tools for working on cars, torque wrench, air tools, im gonna get a spring compresser from auto zone, and obviously a jack and jack stands. Im installing the stuff next saturday so is there any last minute tips or advise you guys have to make life a bit easier.

watch out for the (abs) wheel speed sensor. It breaks easily =P

Just unbolt the abs sensor from the strut assembly before you unbolt the strut and it won't get damaged.

Don't know your mechanical aptitude, but I'm not a good mechanic, I always take too long in DIY projects. What I found is it's nice to have a buddy around, even to just hand you tools and help hold stuff. Also, if you need more tools/parts in the middle of the project, there is a way to get to autozone.

take out rear panels carefully, it is a pain in the ass to do it. also make sure the spring sit in the plate right.

I dont really know what you mean by mechanical amplitude, but I am pretty mechanically incline you could say. And yes im gonna have a buddy with me. He is pretty experience too. He has all the suspension stuff done to his 240sx. he went to wyotech. So i think we should be pretty good. As for taking out the rear panels i havent done that before. What is the order you take stuff out or a breif tutorial would be nice have to make the job a bit easier. I ran a search for it but couldnt find anything. Thanks!

this guy has posted some pretty nice pictures of the basic removal and install process.

p.s. From my unique experience, I recommend you make sure at least the front bumpstops gets cut in half because the installers that did mine failed to do so. As a result, the front of the car was bottoming out everywhere and the ride sucked! I cut them myself while they were on the car and gained more suspension travel and a smoother ride (any travel is better than zero, which is what I had).

Yeah based on tein's instructions it says you have to cut the front and back bumpstops in half.

Yup, I did both, but the front is most important because the drop is lower.

Not me.

Here's another tip. After dropping the Solara, and standing from behind, and looking at the side of the car... The wheel looks as though it has sever "negative camber" but in reality, its doesn't...

Freakin DUnn Tire wanted me to get camber alignments for $48 a wheel. He didn't even put my car on the lift... Ass... Just eye balled it and talked shiz to me... (i left..)

Went to Sears, put it on the lift, come to find out, they were NOT "Crooked" and within specs. Dunn Tire lost a customer.

Solara TRD EDition did you use tein and tokcios?

Also can someone tell me the order of taking out the back interior of my car so i can remove the struts. I searched for i and got nothing. Also a breif tip for the hard to get out side panels would be nice too. I really need to know this soon cause im doing this tomorrow. Thanks a bunch.

PM me your email address. I have a PDF file of the installation instructions including pics of the interior I can send you.

The interior is not hard to take apart, just time consuming. You will first want to take out the bottom seat cushion, unbolt the backrest (pain), pull the side panels (they are just held in by clips, not hard to take off) (bottom panel first then top panel), then remove the clips holding the package shelf in place and pull the assembly towards you.
