JIC FLT-A1 coilovers

I was curious if anyone had the install instructions that went around a while back.. I searched and couldn't find it...

also I had a few questions

1) Is it easy to adjust the height/ damper?

2) do you have to have the coilover out of the car to adjust the height/damper?

3) When you had an alignment was it hard for the techs to adjust these correctly to get back to Stock Toyota Allignment specs?

4) Do the upper pillow ball mounts make it easier to adjust and make it so you don't need an aftermarket camber kit?

1.) Adjusting is easy, there is one adjusting collar that needs to be loosened on the bottom to control height. The two top adjusters can be adjusted to give pre-load. I usually have mine set max to preload to give the suspension max travel while using the bottom to control height. Dampers are adjustable from the top. So front=pop the hood and count the clicks. Rear=Good luck, I hear you gotta take apart the rear seats. For us Camry guys, one bolt and the rear seat shoulder support comes off for quick access.

2.)No, the Height, just have the wheels off. Damper, see #1 description. Suggestions for the rear that I have from another poster is to drill a small hole in the rear deck to be able to adjust w/o taking apart the rear seats.

3.) No, the mechanics actually said it was easier to adjust to factory specs since the pillowball mounts are solid compared to loose rubber stock mounts. Sometimes being too low, its hard to get the car up on the rack.

4.) Yes, you shouldnt need a camber kit. For me, My mechanic said that being too low, it puts stress on the car and creates "metal fatigue" where the suspension arms are almost always under load and will mess with the natural change in toe depending on ride height. Meaning, every change in height, its recommended to get an alignment check, especially with sports tires that have soft compound. My tires got eaten up @ 10k miles. They were Dunlop SP9000.

did your tires get eaten up because of a bad alignment job? or you had it too low.. im looking to lower it a bit to make the stock wheels fill the well.. but not too low.. no more than an inch...
my tires should be fine shouldn't they?

If you're going to lower just an inch..get tokico/eibach or something. I really doubt the JIC/Tein coilovers would help you.

ah, well seems like what you are asking for is coilovers. Yeah, I think my tires got eaten up because i had it dumped down to the ground. Hell, it looks so damn good but i hardly made it over speedbumps as well as my exhaust scraped everywhere (it was stock!) Get it for the superb handling and adjustability. You can have the rear raised to your liking.

for camrys you dont really need to. The shoulder support comes out with 1 bolt which is so long, i just hand tighten it so i can take it off anytime to adjust. Didn't wanna cut into the rear deck cause The only time I adjust is at the track, and any other times, leave it on the softest settings.

using this .pdf for proper names http://walkerautosports.com/documents/j ... stment.pdf

how do I get the distances between the 2- (x1) and 2- (x2) equal before I put them on my car so I can properly adjust the height?

what exactly is dampening?

my springs are rusted, is it safe to just lube it with wd-40, let it sit and use a hard wire brush to clean it off?

mines didn't come with dust boots, is that normal?
