Gregtrd wrote:if your tanny fuild is very low your car won't run i know this from experiance, do you know how to check your trans fuild level, its not like checking the engine oil!! turn you car on and leave it on for about 15 minuits and shift from parking thru 1st slowly a couple of time then go check your trans dip stick, if there is no fuild add some, remember when you add fuild you must shift thru all the gear again, if you dont you'll see it full and it not because the fuild it must go thru all the gears. if you see no fuild when you first check it, it'll take about 3 qt.s, make should that you dont over fill it. just keep check the way told you.

if you have no trans fuild may it could be leaking from; oil pan or there some other seals that go on the drive shafts. any how if you need help email me. i my self did a engine swap on my camry from i4 to v6 it more work you guy think. i got it done in a week. i got had a bad trany and swaped it 6hrs so i have a good idea of what is going on.

well.. this is true, but at the same time there are other factors that are more than likly the problems.. Hes blown for one ( ) , and he has 100,000 miles... I was running 7 psi for at most 6,000 miles, and my tranny went out at 50,000 on the car total.. so... the tranny is a weak spot for our car if you plan on modding it.. Im going to go ahead and make a prediction that the tranny is done

finally got a chance to look under the hood..i'm wondering if i'm out of coolant that could be the problem? i checked the tranny fluid and its there but its a very dark color..anyways i'm going to go grab some coolant and throw it in, i'm afraid there could be a leak in one of the lines..

how much will total cost be..if i DONT do it myself? 5000? anyways..i towed the car to a shop phi recommened and option 1 is a used tranny for 1500, option 2 is a rebuilt for 2500..how does that sound? i went with the rebuilt tranny, cuz it lasts longer supposedly.

anyways i think i'm going to tune boost down and just ride it as a daily from now on..no more mashing it int he solara! the 1st time my solara was ever on a tow truck..heartache..by the way with tein/18's/trd kit i BARELY cleared the flatbed truck. i'm talkin like..1 centimeter and i woulda smacked the kit really hard.

personally.. I would tow it to my house.. cause I would do it for fun... I love cars... of course a 12 pack might be helpful

If I were you and im sure you don't want anymore issues.. I would go for the rebuilt.. but then again... its all up to you...

haha yeah..if iw as that good with cars i'd probably do it, bu thten again time is an issue..i got another 2 cars and a bike crying for attention too..i'll drop it off and you can play with it, no? j/k..yeah i'm going with the rebuild cuz i plan to ride it out for a while...at 100k it is considered just midlife for a toyota anyways.

yeah the rebuild comes with a warranty too. so cross my fingers.
