So much go... yet you are not using it to its full potential.

Why seek more power when you could make your car more efficient in the first place? Get rid of the stock log-style headers and get rid of one of the catbacks. Sure it looks ok with dual exhaust, but you and I both know it's not a true dual (since you are running a Y pipe) and it's robbing the efficiency away.

If you think my post is a flame, it's not. It's the concept as people upgrading the suspension but don't bother upgrading the tires. They are stuck with crappy traction.

Also, see if you can still get the big rotor kit. The stock rotors are too small to stop a 200hp car.. let alone 240+ :D

I'll never run more than 5.5, because I WILL NOT take that risk. This gives me all the power I want. Any more I have to spend a grip load of more money to build my internals -no thank you. My goal was to reach about 300 wheel hp and I think I'm there.

I'm planning to get headers, if Megan ever makes them. Maybe I'll get lucky and find a used set of JPP headers, but I doubt it. I really don't want to go to some muffler shop and have one custom made, these companies test their products for a reason before they released them. I don't want to just make one and expect big gains.

I would change the dual cat-back, but I've got the black widow kit with dual exhaust cut-outs. I'm not going to run one exhaust and have an empty space on one side...I'm not going for a ricer look. I would have totally gone with a single 3" exhaust, but I'm not about to remove the molded bumper and go back stock. If I ever damage the rear, I'll definately go back to stock and 3" single piping.

I'm trying to be different, you know? Think about how many clones of your ride are on the street. Have you ever seen my clone on the street - bw kit, black on black, and not just show? How much hp am I really losing with my setup, when I've reached my personal peak hp?

I did just buy the custom supra bracket, to change out the stock front rotors to the supra rotors. If I had $2000 to buy the big brake kit I would, wanna make a donation...lol. I will invest in one later, I'm not rich so it'll take me time just to re-cooperate from all this. I just moved into a 1 bedroom apartment @ $1400/month - Cali prices suck!

Thanks for your concerns, bro. I hope you understand why now :D

Congrats on the car, sounds mean. Several of us have the SPEC stage 3 & lightweight flywheel, I can't complain with the performance. Gets a little old in city traffic though and forget about the g/f being able to drive it, well, that's a good thing actually.

Cool, I wonder how it compares with the ACT clutch? I might be able to go through one of my buddies, I've got to see what he can get. Can you tell me what you paid for both? How's 1st gear now, with the lightweight flywheel? Does it spin through it even faster? Allen, who's tuning my car, says I shouldn't get one. Although, I do really want one....

:D Thanks Fletch, ~Spadwaller~, 06toyo chick, and dominoSLEV6 :D

I got my clutch & LW flywheel from www.horsepowerfreaks.com, they have a selection of clutches, descriptions & prices.

Clutch: around $330
LW flywheel: around $350
Local install: $450

Yes, it revs faster with the flywheel, I could feel it from the seat of my pants dyno, it's too bad it's sort of a pricey part for 1mz-fe but I don't think anybody on the forum would dispute it's worth as long as the clutch needs to be replaced.

Maybe RJ can get clutches also?

Nice going on the upgrades. I'll be interested to see what kind of numbers you get when you dyno. I see you've got the JPP Y pipe. Without the headers though, my guess is you'll be in the 270 to 280 fwhp range, but for your sake, I hope I'm wrong.

I'm curious about why your tuner doesn't recommend getting a lightweight flywheel. I've had a Fidanza flywheel for 3 years and it's been great. I had read that a lightweight flywheel could cause rougher idling or more difficult engagement, but I haven't had these or any other problems with it. You can spin up the rpms more quickly to get into your powerband. There is less parasitic drag on the engine than with the heavy stock flywheel, so there is less loss in power between the engine and the wheels. If you're going to be replacing your clutch, the lightweight flywheel is the way to go.

Thanks. I guess he didn't like the lightened flywheel idea because 1st gear goes by sooo fast.
I'm wondering if I could squeeze out a little more hp with the new MAF, figuring I can get more airflow. Although I know it's not there for hp. But, 270-280 fwhp is fine with me. :P I think I'll go for the flywheel, it's just gonna take a little more time to get things done...I just bought the OBDII scanner so I can tune the lo throttle. I ended up getting the one thats listed on urdusa.com, which I think will be suffient. I'll post up on the S-AFC tuning post when I finish. Man, I wish our parts weren't so expensive!!! I hope to get this done before the end of October. :D There goes another grand....
