Ive been from Ebay intake, to K&N drop in with ebay midpipe, to Injen... BUt was still lacking power.

I found another use for the GAY ebay intake ahaha.

So I finnally finalized my Cold air extension Projectalong with everything. I spented my whole day just fixing little stuff I shuold of done on the car. But for the intake CAI project... It goes:
Injen ram air 2.7, to the custom cutted ebay intake estension to the fenders 3.0 , then from there a 45 degrees heat&water&Rust protection coating piping into the fog lights area and 2.7 top it off with a Injen cone Filter for now(K&N cone sitting at home...shall wait haha) for a complete cold air extension.. Best of all.. cost me only 20 bucks for the pipe.

All I can say was I take back my words.. At first I was like no way this extension can give me that much More power. I drove out the shop and was cruising at 20Mph... I was still in gear 1 but didnt gunned it all .. Then I floored it at 30Mph and at first I guess the ECU didnt map it yet until around 4,3 K Rpm... HOLY COW IT PULLLED. I shift early too because I havnt felt my solara this powerful in like MONTHS LITERALLY!!!!!I havnt felt this exitment in a long time. All this was done with the battery resetted so the CEL light wasnt on yet.. I have to admit The power was there... Cant believe it. I love my COLD AIR EXTENSION WEEE.. Wonder whats next to do on the list now haha.

My question is.... So do I take out my wheel pastic wall thing? Fender covers or what ever they call it that sits behind the fender and all around the wheel.... Will having it on help performance or taking it all help performance? I dont have fog lights so Air is coming into the intake already. I just want to know if its better to take off the fender cover or not.... I want to know performance wise not bad weather wise.

Great job! I went a little further with mine and added a 3" 45 degree elbow so my filter sits directly in front of the fog opening.

Good job, seems to be effective.

Definately, put you fender liner back on, it will keep the back of your cone filter from getting excess water, mud, sand, etc..

^^^^ Yes yes and yes. Without that liner you'll be paying a price when it rains, or at least risk paying a price.

Wow, is this really how Solara's are doing their CAI's? With extensions and little pipes here and there...?

Hey bro did you remove your fender liner wall thing? Reason Im asking because Well mines sorta mess up and when I hit small bumps it rubs against my tires.. But I dont want to take it off if its going to rob all power because airs flowing right through it...

Yeah, when the b/w bumper was installled, there weren't any clips or anything to hook up the splash guard. I've been fine w/o it, I've had it through 2 rainy CA seasons. My only problem is that I probably have to clean the filter more often, but to me that's not a bad thing. Also, before I added the elbow, my heat/splash shield would sometimes rub my tire. But, now I haven't had any problems.
