Well, LED kits are brighter if you aim them directly down. I have had 3 diffrent LED kits they are very nice I have had one kit that was 300 Colors from Varad, was not my favorite. I have a kit from Plasmaglow a single color kit very nice. I also had 3 of my favorite kits, Flowlighting Blaze kit.
www.flowlighting.com. They are pretty much the same as the Streetglow LED kit, the owner of Flowlightin will talk to you on AIM person to person and will fix any issue you have quick.
www.oznium.com for the flowlighting kit.
Some people will say LED is brighest in one spot NEON is bright all over. That is because you can aim an LED kit, where a neon kit just spreads the glow.
Streetglow Gold Series kits are the top of the line, neon wise in my book 130 dollars shipped you can have a brand new kit off ebay.
If you want to go tottally over the top get the ICELED ufo kit. It's 800 dollars and is tottally amazing.
www.iceled.com for some awesome photos.
I suggest an LED kit. For the functions, colors and ease of install.

A quality kit should come in a lexan tube. Not just a neon element. I agree if a large rock hits the tube it will shatter the neon, but Streetglow warrantys their tubes. Not the Lexan but the Neon. So if you break an element but the tube is healthy, then its covered.
Deion wrote:I had both kits on my last car. The LED's were a lot brighter than the Neons and you also have the flexability in the LED strip to go in smaller places or even curve around some parts. The neon's kinda hung on the lowest part of the car and that scared me going over speed bumps. The LED's just makes it easier to protect the strip and if you wanted, can do stuff like a wave design.
What kit did you have that installed and was flexiable to be routed underneath a cars chassis?
