CAI extension question

CAI extension question

Postby Deion » Wed Oct 19, 2005 3:28 pm

Hey guys!

I just got my CAI extension from RJ. In the box is a single 90 degree bent pipe and the silicone connection. Am I missing anything? I can't see how it goes down into the wheel well like the pics of your guys'.

awsome! looks like its gonna be an easy install.

Did you take the fusebox out to do the install? I couldn't figure out how to remove it. Did you have to cut your wheel well? Is that just preference or is that needed for the install?

Oh, and I only found 1 of those metal clamp rings, is there supposed to be 2?

Thanks for the help!

The fusebox has like 2 or 3 clips on the backside on the fender. Mine come off easy now, but I think you could use a phillips screwdriver on the clips.
I just used some pliers to peel back metal there because it wasn't sitting correctly at first. If you find the extension is not lining up with the SR then try doing that.
You should have 3 clamps total, one on each side of the connection and one for the filter. If you don't have one, you can just pick one up at some auto store.

hey, i jus got mine today as well and installed it, it also came with only one clamp, but after I was done I just went to Advance and got another. Sucks that they only sell them there in a 2-pack. Home Depot or Lowes has singles tho. Really easy install though, only about 30 minutes.

Yeah I would say the hardest part of the install is taking off the snorkel cause the screws are hard to get too but yeah if you had it removed than the install will go by quicker

Check the 3rd pic I posted above ^^^. I didn't cut it, I just used some pliers to fold it back.
