blow off valve ?

hey guys.... one of my buddies was telling me that a bov on an automatic woldnt make the same sound that one on a manual makes.... i didnt think it mattered since it runs off of a vaccuum... will it sound the same regardless???

i think because when you drive automatic, your feet wont leave the pedal (so the throttle remain open in most of time). for stick shift, everytime when you are shifting, you will have to let go the gas pedal.....at that point, you will hear a nice psssst sound.
