If you have an impact wrench, use it for the strut-to-axle carrier nuts. That saved me a lot of time since those suckers are huge (obviously).
Here are the torque specifications (all in ft-lbs):
Front
- Stabilizer bar link-to-control arm bracket nut, 29
- Strut upper mounting nuts, 59
- Strut-to-suspension support (damper shaft) nut, 36
- Strut-to-steering knuckle bolts/nuts, 162
Rear
- Stabilizer bar link-to-strut assembly, 29
- Strut upper mounting nuts, 29
- Strut-to-suspension support (damper shaft) nut, 36
- Strut-to-axle carrier nuts/bolts, 145
You'll need 10mm, 12mm, 14mm sockets, 5mm hex key, (adjustable) crescent wrench, and I think either 3/4" and/or 7/8" sockets for the strut-to-axle carrier bolts since fronts are bigger than the rears. Before you take the struts out, make sure you support the bottom of the axle carrier, otherwise, you may snag the speed sensor wires and cause an ABS light and/or TRAC off light to come on (if automatic). You'll have to go back to the dealer to fix that. We worked on the rear first, since that's the most time consuming, after that, the front is a breeze. Good luck.
