K&N Air Filter Recharger Kit for TRD Air Filter
I recall that the K&N kit would work on the TRD Filter as the brand name is just a name while the chemical mixtures might be slightly different here n there once the oil is applied back on. Hopefully I'll be up n running by Monday b4 going to work. Just gotta be careful with the oil application and just doing a small fast quick sprays across the top and bottom of the filter fins. 2 Applications should be good I think. Any pointers would be nice as I'll be applying the oil to filter after maybe 5hrs of letting the filter dry out from the water/cleaner stage.
I yanked the bottom airfilter box section off and shaked and wiggled it like crazy to get all the dust/leaves/dead bugs out of the lil plastic creavaces. Used a paper towel to wipe some dirt and dust around the walls. DAYAM, there was lots of it! Espeacially with the tap n shake before applying cleaner and water to the filter. Its been about 50K anyways when i first installed the filter. First time for me to experience so I think its a really good time to do it seriously. Pretty tedious though as I had to unscrew the top airfilter box to lossen it up more for me to get the filter out again and the bottom section off. Was little worried as I knew there are some sensors attached to the box top so hopefully I didn't damage the sensors. Only slide the top away as much as possible so I could get my socket wrench in to lossen the bolt screws on the bottom airbox section.
So anymore pointers would be nice and I think this might be good for a sticky tutorial but its up to the admins and you fellow SGs to back it up! Thanks in advance and hopefully this will be used well for others in the future perhaps.
