lately i've been getting some noticable vibrations and driver's wheel shaking. at higher speeds 70-80 mph its pretty noticable, and at low speeds there is a lot of movement. my two front tires are getting low on tread, the back tires are pretty good.

i'm thinking its just the tires, any input?

it could be more than just the tires, are the wheels loose? check them and take your car to a car shop so they can check it out. What you are describing sounds like a serious problem to me, I would take care of it asap.

p.s.: you should also do a search on this forum, there have been posts that relates to wheel vibrations and all.

Could be off balanced tires, or warped rotors as well

But definitely check the lugs, make sure they are torqued to spec, and the tire balance.... I get that done for 5 bucks each around here...

thanks for the help - i put new tires on it and got an alignment, the ride is much better now. i'll keep an eye on it to see if it creeps back.

Actually the only way to tell if you have warped rotors is when you brake the steerin' wheel shakes like no other.

I think that is is your wheels not bein' balanced.
