Checking out a used solara, what to look for?

There is every single maintenance and oil change documented and done by Toyota with the car and not a scratch on it. I'd love to shop around more but there arent many V6 5spd's in my area and the ones that are around are in the same ballpark for more miles or not as good condition. I can get them to come down on the price a little but not a lot, guses I'm going to have to struggle with this decision on my own but thank you for all the info and opinions.

"V6 5spd"??

U mean 5spd auto, right?

You just have to look around for a while. I looked for a long time before I found mine.

Time is unfortunately not on my side. If i'm going to change cars I need to do it now because I have a 52 mile commute each way every day so the miles rack up way too fast to hold onto the car. I'll loose a little on the WRX now but nothing I can't easily cover, in a month though I've got 2000 more miles on it and its worth even less. I think this is going to come down to the change in insurance and one more test drive to see if I really like it. The clutch feels sticky when coming back up but it may just be the nature of the car and the fact that its the complete opposite of the WRX so it all feels wierd.

solara isn't the best commute car, mileage wise.

yes..

and yes..

and if you're more worried about mileage... why dont u get something that is known for getting great milage like a civic or corolla?
yes i know, its kind of downgrading, but you just seems more worried about the milage you're going to be putting on the car.
you can always get a commuter car like a honda civic or fit now.. save money, look harder and find the v6 5speed conver. thats up to your par.
this is just my opinion.

I'm only worried about putting miles on the WRX because it will decrease in value quickly since it is practically a brand new car. Right now I should be able to get just about what I owe on it. I've had a civic before and was not a fan at all but you do make a good point. The mileage from the Solara won't be any worse than the WRX I'm sure not to mention its 50 miles highway each way so I just cruise at 65-70. I'm probably just trying to justify the purchase to myself here but the payments for this car and insurance would be less than what I pay for the WRX alone so its just very tempting to my wallet. And there aren't really any other cars in this price range that I really like as much as the Solara.

Ditch this dealer though, I would say $6k would be a fair price for a car with such high miles.

I got my 00 for $7,000 in april and it only had 49,000 miles on it.
