interior neons in IL

anybody know if driving with INTERIOR neons/L.E.D.s are legal in the state of Illinois (downers grove - chicago suburbs) ?

i would assume that they are illegal.

To be sure, you could just call your local non-emergency police line. they'd be able to tell you, and you'd have the answer for sure. Your local police may even have a website where you can ask questions.

okay, im just trying to make sure, because i have interior neons and i rarely drive with them on because ive heard mixed stories from people who live in IL, some say they drive with them on all the time and never once got pulled over, other say they get pulled over anytime they turn them on.. and some people say.. maybe it just depends on the cop(s)?

i have neon under my driver and passenger seats. i always turn them on at light. havn't seen anything happen to me yet by cops.

well my neons are there as well, but i also have neosn in the back by the rear speakers. that's the one im worried about. ( you can tell the way how the light looks by looking at my signature) ..

good point man, i was just wondering cuz if they were, id just take mine out (the back one anyways) ive already had enough trouble with the law lately, as you all know with my court coming up wednesday.
