brake fluid, if it is full and the light blinks, you are in trouble

It can also mean brake pads are low.

light

I don;t think the light (sensor) can tell if the pads are worn, only that the brake fluid is low; however, this CAN happen when your pads get worn as more fluid is in the brake lines to push the pads out further.

Top off your brake fluid. If that does not fix the probem then investigate the parking brake switch. do you have your parking brake on by a click or 2 accidentally? Open up the console & find th switch. it could be grounding out on something.

If it was an ABS problem then the ABS light would be on, not the brake light.

I agree with sentinel. It "should" only be that you are low on brake fluid. Even if it looks good enough to you, I suggest you top it off. My light came on, I put in about 2 tablespoons worth and the light never came back on.
Good luck.
