is that a joke?

you're talking about the shifter gate, like the stick-ish thing by your cupholders?

do it yourself and save $139

pop up the black plastic surround, then you remove one screw (if memory serves) so you can pry up the entire shift gate. now you can reach and replace the little #194 bulb.

it's the shifter. the thing with the |P|R|D|D2|D1|

that whole section down there is supposed to light up but it does not.

Its just a bulb. They charge you 10 bucks for a bulb. which cost like 99 cent.. then the rest is labor..

Do it yourself. Your getting ripped off.

^ any one know how to help me through this

-- the dealership told me it was a "special bulb"
and i did some research on trying to find the name/number of the replacement bulb but no luck.
I know it's a single bulb and the rest of the light is reflected (or so i heard??)..

after you pop out the plastic surround piece (not pictured), remove the screw at the green arrow. using a large flathead screwdriver, pry up on the locations with the red arrows. it is tough (use a towel or some sort of padding where you pivot the screwdriver) but you will eventually pop the shiftgate up, from there you can access the #194 bulb.

Its a single standard 194. You can get them at Autozone for 99c for clear or 2 for 3 bucks for any other color.

Bassthrive has it exactly right. WHen your prying it up, it does take quite some pressure, a long blade screwdriver is best to get the leverage you need to pry it up
