I need to adjust the lamps. I havent figured out how to do it? Help!

If you look behind your headlights, you'll see this

This is on the driver side btw... right next to the battery.

Turn that bolt right there. I believe it's something small, like a 8mm or a 10 mm. I vaguely remember, but I think it was if you turn it clockwise, it goes down, and if you turn it counter clockwise, the beam will aim up, not 100% sure though, hopes this help

Are the pictures shown of the adjustment knob the same for all years? I have a '00 and the pictures look like my headlamp assembly. There is no wrench adjustment and I don't understand why it was said to use either a 8 or 10 mm wrench. The slot at the top has an opening for inserting a screw driver in the notch so you can make adjustments with the screw driver, right? I also noticed that the wheel is held in place by a phillips head screw, is this the adjustment screw? I can turn the wheel by hand and nothing happens. I do not want to break the mechanism that makes the headlamp go up and down because the headlamp assembly is so very expensive. So any advice would be well received.

Aims the lights up or down.

I think the grey, rubber nipple is the knob that aims it left or right.

Where did you have to use a 8 mm wrench or socket on? I do not see anything other than a serrated wheel with a screw holding it on the assembly? Can you give a little more information on exactly how you accomplished this task? thanks

haha, glad it worked for you guys, when I first installed my HID's, this was one of the first thing I did, aimed it a lil bit higher so that it wasn't all low on the ground. and yes, turn that serrated wheel with the screw.

I used an 8mm socket, it's kinda hard to miss. very obvious what you need to do if you look at it.

Yeah, both horizontal and vertical use bolts (so I don't know where you got screw from), the one that people keep pointing out is the vertical, and the plastic thing at the end has to be removed if you want to adjust the horizontal aim.

There's no set guideline for horizontal aim (usually it's favored to be to the right, but I have them straight ahead), but I could not for the life of me figure out why well-aimed lights have such poor visibility. Three bulb manufacturers later, I discovered on a good set of bulbs that they were aimed too far to the right, so it's recommended to check that too.

I dont know why couldnt they have it made it a bit easier to adjust. ive been having the same proble.
