Reason You Thought Your Setup Was The Best Choice For Your Needs
I wanted Power and I wanted it to be dependable. I feel I got both with my setup. Also I feel safe driving it long distance with less mantainance and its easy on my money. On the road The car performs well and doesnt give me any issue ever since the setup was completed. I mean, why have allot of power on a luxury car if its always breaking down or always draining your wallet?

What Kind Of Person Do You Think Your Setup Is Ideally Suited For?:
I Think this setup are for people who wants to have a bigger push then just stock supercharged yet easy on their wallet. Who would want to complain with 300 hp at their comand?

Reason You Thought Your Setup Was The Best Choice For Your Needs
The car has always been looked down on. I brought it to the track as a joke and for fun, but quickly learned that it can keep up with many others there including fully moded 240's and Toyota Corollas with swapped engines. I say keep up because heavy weight and an auto tranny kept me from passing. I needed more power on the track. I am a perfectionist, I love maxing out anything I own including cars. The supercharger and all the other bolt-ons just makes me feel that I've done as much as possible and it allows closure to move on to another car. lol

What Kind Of Person Do You Think Your Setup Is Ideally Suited For?:
The person who wants a dependable car that can take a lot of unsuspecting "street-racers" (gives them the wow-factor). Track junkies that love to surprise people with a strange fast car... only to ask "Is that a Camry on the track?"

Please List All Parts You Have Broken/Replaced That You Would Blame

Knock Sensor - Replaced with GM/spliced to read from 1 sensor
13.1inch Supra TT brakes

Gas Milage: Full tank ~350-370miles freeway/city mixed driving

Other Info You'd Like To Share:
My car had TCS and would always cut power since at the time I had stock tires/system on. I blew a knock sensor from going WOT and the s/c was boosting while the TCS system was fighting it. Permanently disabled TCS, replaced/modded knock sensor + wires and all is good. Tried 5.5psi and always had the lean code. Swaped back to 4psi next day in fear of damange. 4psi track tested for 3 6hr Buttonwillow track sessions under HARD driving. No wear and tear issues other than tires and suspension. Tranny cooler highly recomended.

List of ENGINE MODS ONLY:
TRD Supercharger 4 PSI

Reason You Thought Your Setup Was The Best Choice For Your Needs
-Needed a daily driver and wanted to mod at the same time. Origionally was only going to drop it and put rims on it, but I caught the disease and haven't stopped since I bought the thing back in 2001 (winter).

What Kind Of Person Do You Think Your Setup Is Ideally Suited For?:
-Anybody who wants the look of a nice clean semi-luxury car and a little power to boot.

Please List All Parts You Have Broken/Replaced That You Would Blame
On Being Boosted and What You Replaced Them With:

-Blown knock sensor after a day at the track. I didn't let the engine cool down enough between runs. Didn't replace knock sensor, re-wired the ECU to the good sensor.

Please List Any Service or CEL Codes You Have Had To Deal With Due To Boost:
-Uneven idle at times, had to replace TPS/IAC valve (don't know if it's due to boost or just needed to be replaced).
-Will get "system too rich" code from time to time (PO134 I think), but usually goes away within a couple of miles.

Gas Milage: 20-25mpg on 93 octane (90% highway) and 12-18mpg (90% city) <<<about right for me too, never did the math but I can get ~350 miles on a tank of gas, city driving.

Other Info You'd Like To Share:
-This car has been nothing but good to me and I hope it keeps on truckin'. I intend to drive her until she dies. I feel comfortable with 6lbs. of boost, one: because of a long discussion I had with JoeB, and two: I tend to baby it when I drive, rarely do I push her (changes in mood and track days will change that).

List of ENGINE MODS ONLY:

Induction Type: Supercharger
Type of Motor: 1mz-fe
Transmission: Manual
Date Boosted: August 2007
Milage on Boost Date: 92,000 Miles
Current Milage: 103,000 Miles
Daily Driver, Seasonal, Weekend Car or Trailer Queen: Daily Driver (summer only)
Boost Kit (or major component brands if custom): TRD Supercharger
PSI: Stock Pulley (4 psi), now 6psi
Management System: None initially, now Apexi SAFC2
Oil Used Since Boost: Mobil 1 5w30 Synthetic
Oil Change Frequency: 3000 miles
Most Recent Dyno Numbers and PSI:
217 WHP / 209 WTQ @ 4 psi
230 WHP / 218 WTQ @ 4 psi (added JP exhuaust, fuel pump, jim's fuel mod, and tune with SAFC)
254 WHP / ??? WTQ @ 6 psi (added pulley, supra injectors)

Reason You Thought Your Setup Was The Best Choice For Your Needs:
I wanted to start with all of the basic mods before I installed the supercharger- power is nothing without suspension and braking ability. I wanted a safe, reliable daily driven setup that would perform well without risking engine damage.

After the need hit for more power, I installed a full JP setup, walbro fuel pump, and Jim's fuel mod with an SAFC2 and saw a decent gain with a tune. I then installed Supra Injectors (96-97) and a 6 psi pulley and am now happy with the setup. Hoping that the mileage will still stay decent and the car will remain reliable.

What Kind Of Person Do You Think Your Setup Is Ideally Suited For?:
Someone who wants a decently quick car without much hassle or costly install and tuning fees- a fun car to talk about and drive that maintains reliability and driveability, yet still has the power to surprise people.

On 6 psi, Id say about the same thing- its the perfect amount of power for daily use IMO and should hopefully still remain reliable.

Please List All Parts You Have Broken/Replaced That You Would Blame
On Being Boosted and What You Replaced Them With:

OEM clutch (was a cheap ebay clutch installed by the dealer, it couldnt hold the torque of the supercharger)

Please List Any Service or CEL Codes You Have Had To Deal With Due To Boost:
EGR code, but I am running a blockoff plate.

Gas Milage:
25-30 MPG with a city/highway mix

Other Info You'd Like To Share:
I plan to run 5.5 psi with a full dyno tune next summer, but this is a great reliable and powerful setup for what it is. The dyno proved that the stock ECU manages the supercharger and AFR well- slightly lean in the low end and slightly rich up top. The curve could be smoothed out some with tuning but looks great for a stock ECU and no tuning.

After adding more boost and further upgrades I am even happier with the setup.

TRD Supercharger

Reason You Thought Your Setup Was The Best Choice For Your Needs:
I was tired of my 420a 2ga eclipse and wanted more power. I was looking for a 4g63t 2gb eclipse but there was nothing within 300 miles of where I live. I found the car on facebook for a GREAT price and couldn't say no.

What Kind Of Person Do You Think Your Setup Is Ideally Suited For?:
For someone who is looking for power but also wants a car with a decient amount of room front and back, including the boot. Also would like a car that dosent have that cheap plastic look inside.

6 psi is an insane kick in the nuts. For anyone that wants to feel an awesome pull go for 6 pounds. Be wary of long term effects..fried my second engine already.

What Kind Of Person Do You Think Your Setup Is Ideally Suited For?:
You must have extreme patience and the money to back up with anything past 4 PSI. Check engine lights will be regular for you ( at least they were for me anyway )
Once venturing past 4 PSI the boost becomes addicting. Id like to explore options closer to 10 psi at this point...

Please List All Parts You Have Broken/Replaced That You Would Blame
On Being Boosted and What You Replaced Them With
:
Fried a second engine with 6 psi and a heavy foot
Broken Fuel Pump ( No signal coming from pump ) - Replaced with Walbro 190LPH
Threw out a rod bearing, comprimising my first engine block while boosted on 5.5 psi. Replaced with used engine.
Blown knock sensor bank 2, shortly after engine swap.
Blown A/F Sensor Bank 1 and 2, shortly after dyno tune
Blown knock sensor banks 1 and 2 ( Yes... again ) shortly after replacing A/F sensor - Knock sensors replaced with ATS Knock Sensor Kit

Please List Any Service or CEL Codes You Have Had To Deal With Due To Boost:
A/F Sensor malfunction: Bank 1 Sensor 1, Bank 2 Sensor 1 ( The A/F sensor on each header ).
Knock Sensor Malfunction Banks 1 and 2
Engine lean condition bank 1 - Code went away after a reconditioned engine was dropped in the replace second engine... most likely a code caused by excessive engine blow-by.
Engine misfire cylinder 4 - Most likely caused by blow by from a fried piston, again this code went away after I dropped in another engine.

Gas Mileage: Around 16-20 mpg Mostly City, running 11.7 Air Fuel Ratio @ WOT.

Other Info You'd Like To Share:
Blew my motor.
Culprit is most likely a bad piston ring causing excessive oil blow-by which finally starved my engine of oil.
Got the new motor in but immediately blew a knock sensor and now fried an A/F sensor.
Got the new A/F Sensors in after replacing the knock sensor on bank 2 and blew both knock sensors. Replaced with ATS Knock sensor kit.

Fried my second engine from boosting 6 pounds and driving with a heavy foot. Replacement engine with all new parts lasted a grand total of 3 months. Replacing stock engine with built motor very soon.

List of ENGINE MODS ONLY:
TRD Supercharger, 6 PSI
Injen Short Ram Intake
Custom Cold Air Extension

good setup for my needs, never liked a stock car. reliable performance as most of us here wanted. plus i like having an odd car. ive only seen one supercharged camry in my area and i like having somthing special.

What Kind Of Person Do You Think Your Setup Is Ideally Suited For?:
this a a good setup for someone who wants to add some spice to their daily drive. the auto tranny provides a reliable and comfortable ride especially in traffic but lacks some enjoyment and control. if i were to do this again, or keep the car, ill definatly be going manual.

O2 sensors
fuel pump(not broken but needed to be replaced to keep up)

coolant temp sensor codes
lean o2 code on front bank
runs a little rich as a reslut of no tune.

would like to go to 5.5 psi but worries about the millage on the auto tranny and millage on the engine have kept me from doing it...that and gas prices. i DO wish i had a manual. the auto is sluggish and there are time in certain RPM ranges even under boost the car feels slow. also i have noticed a differance when driving between a CAI and SRI.

TRD S/C 4 psi
Jims fuel mod
190 fuel pump
